Peter Parker, the Spectacular Spider-Man #002 (1977)

“Kraven is the Hunter!” Rating: 3/5 Writer: Gerry Conway Artist: Sal Buscema Kraven and Tarantula are hired to kidnap the Empire State University chancellor. They do so. Tarantula delivers the chancellor to their employer while Kraven stays behind to fight Spider-Man. Spider-Man wins. Tarantula is gassed by his employer (who’s identity is kept secret by shrouding his face in darkness).

“The Tarantula is a Very Deadly Beast!” Rating: 5/5 Writer: Gerry Conway Artist: Ross Andru Gwen Stacy’s clone part 4. Versus Tarantula. In a recreation of Gwen Stacey’s death, Spider-Man is thrown off the Brooklyn Bridge by the Jackal.

“Shoot-Out in Central Park!” Rating: 4/5 Writer: Gerry Conway Artist: Ross Andru Punisher returns. Faces off against Tarantula and his henchmen Hidalgo & Juan. Harry Osborn finds Peter’s costume and mask on Peter’s dresser.
