Peter Parker, the Spectacular Spider-Man #044 (1980)

“The Vengeance Gambit!” Rating: 2/5 Writer: Marv Wolfman Artist: Alan Gordon Somebody wants to become the new mob boss. A guy named Alfred also wants to become the new mob boss and starts killing the other guy’s men. Spider-Man goes to investigate but gets gassed and chained to a conveyer belt that leads to a furnace when he learns that the new mob boss is the Vulture.

The Amazing Spider-Man #207 (1980)

“Mesmero’s Revenge!” Rating: 2/5 Writer: Denny O’Neil Artist: Jim Mooney A hypnotist upset about bad reviews seeks vengeance on Spider-Man for foiling his attempt to kill the critic who gave him a bad review. Spider-Man foils his plot again fairly easily.

Peter Parker, the Spectacular Spider-Man #043 (1980)

“Pretty Poison” Rating: 2/5 Writer: Roger Stern Artist: Mike Zeck A lady called Belladonna wants revenge against a fashion designer who steals his designs from other people. Spider-Man manages to take down her goons and save the fashion designer, but Belladonna gets away.
