Spider-Man fights past the inbreds and finds Morbius. Morbius was working on a cure for his vampirism with Dr. Strange, but gave up and became leader of the under dwellers. Morbius thinks the inbreds are bringing him bad people to feed on, but they only think they’re bad because they were from the city. Morbius leaves in disgust. Their old leader resumes his role. Spider-Man goes home.

Some inbred dwellers of abandoned subway tunnels are kidnapping bums to trade to their leader Morbius for food. Spider-Man hears of the kidnappings and investigates a manhole in his black suit to give him more cover. A group of the dwellers swarm on him.

Morbius comes back and attacks a halloween party that Pete is attending at a college friend’s house. Peter changes into Spider-Man and fights Morbius, who gets cured of his vampirism by getting hit by lightning while trying to bite Spider-Man. But something weird happens to Pete’s friend Chip when the attack happens. His eyes glow and he manifests some birds and then drives off.

Empathoid leaves Morbius’s body and enters Spider-Man’s. Empathoid is a being who feeds on emotions. He destroyed everybody on his planet by feeding off everyone’s emotions until they died. He wants to feed off of Spider-Man’s emotions while he finds and fights Morbius again. Spider-Man leads Morbius to a football game. The high emotions of everybody in the stadium overwhelms Empathoid and he leaves Spider-Man’s body and becomes incapacitated. Morbius flies off. He wanted to destroy Empathoid and had no personal beef with Spider-Man at the moment.

Morbius comes back to Earth. At first, he tries to feed on humans, but Empathoid makes Morbius succumb to his desire to kill Spider-Man. So he fights Spider-Man.
