The Amazing Spider-Man #351 (1991)

“The Three Faces of Evil!”

Rating: 5/5

Writer: David Michelinie
Artist: Mark Bagley

Spider-Man and Nova discover that Carlton Drake has rebuilt the Tri-Sentinel. Drake tries to send it after Spider-Man, but the Tri-Sentinel overrides the controls and returns to Loki’s original directive of destruction. Spider-Man and Nova fight it. Drake put antarctic vibranium in a sealed container in its brain as a fail safe (i.e. when the container is opened, the Tri-Sentinel’s brain will melt). Spider-Man enters the head, but gets trapped in a force field bubble. Nova gets trapped in some coils it shoots.

The Amazing Spider-Man #329 (1990)

“Acts of Vengeance: Power Prey”

Rating: 5/5

Writer: David Michelinie
Artist: Erik Larsen

Loki, bitter about his acts of vengeance plan failing and disbanding, turns three Sentinels into one mega Sentinel and sends it to destroy a nuclear plant (in effect destroying the whole city). Graviton wants another piece of Spider-Man, but Spidey makes short work of him. Spidey is blasted by an energy beam by Sebastian Shaw and becomes Captain Universe. Something blocked the full transformation before. The Enigma Force chose him to stop the Tri-Sentinel. He renders the Sentinel to dust with the power and the Enigma Force leaves him.

Flash shows up to Peter’s apartment with his new girlfriend…Felicia Hardy (aka The Black Cat).
