Kraven feels a new sense of peace and happiness now that he has defeated Spider-Man in every way. He no longer feels any need to fight with him. He leads Spider-Man to Vermin, and then sets Vermin loose so they can fight for a final test. Just as Vermin is about to kill Spidey, Kraven stops him and tells him to go. Then he helps Spider-Man back upstairs and tells him to go follow his conscience. Spider-Man leaves, vowing to return. Kraven then shoots himself in the mouth with his rifle.

Spider-Man has some weird dreams while he’s in the coffin. Can’t blame him, after being trapped in a coffin for two weeks. Kraven shot him with some kind of non-lethal bullets, obviously. Spider-Man makes his way to the surface and goes back home to Mary Jane to show her he’s alive. Then he leaves to find Kraven. Vermin is alive, but Kraven has him locked in an electrified cage.

Vermin goes around the city eating people, because he’s hungry and that’s his food. The papers are calling him the Cannibal Killer. Kraven knows who he is and sets out to defeat him. Spider-Man needed the help of Captain America to defeat him before, but Kraven wants to succeed where Spider-Man has failed. Prove himself superior. And he defeats Vermin in the Spider-Man suit. The papers say Spider-Man’s gone berserk because of the way Kraven acts in the Spider-Man suit. Mary Jane is worried about Peter because he’s been missing for weeks and they’re newlyweds. In the final panel he reaches a hand out of the ground.

Spider-Man remains buried the whole issue. Kraven dresses up in Spider-Man’s suit to prove he’s better. He saves Mary Jane from some rapist thugs and leaves. A rat-man called Vermin lives under the sewers and decides to come out to get Spider-Man back for harming him a while ago.

Kraven is getting old and wants to kill Spider-Man before he dies. So he sets out with more determination than ever and catches Spider-Man off guard with a drug tipped dart. Then throws some strange net over him and shoots him with a rifle. Then he puts him in a coffin and buries him.
