“In the Beginning…” Rating: 3/5 Writer: Roger Stern Artist: John Romita Jr. Spider-Man wakes up and chases after Vulture. He catches up with him at the Vulture’s old hideout, rips off his power pack, and hangs him up to dry for the police.

The Amazing Spider-Man #240 (1983)

“Wings of Vengeance!” Rating: 3/5 Writer: Roger Stern Artist: John Romita Jr. The Vulture comes back to New York for revenge against somebody. Spider-Man tries to stop him, but gets knocked unconscious.

The Amazing Spider-Man #239 (1983)

“Now Strikes the Hobgoblin!” Rating: 4/5 Writer: Roger Stern Artist: John Romita Jr. The Hobgoblin starts robbing all of Norman Osborn’s old hideouts. Spider-Man catches up with him at one of the hideouts and fights him. But Hobgoblin gets away.

The Amazing Spider-Man #238 (1983)

“Shadow of Evils Past!” Rating: 4/5 Writer: Roger Stern Artist: John Romita Jr. Spider-Man takes down some bank robbers, but one eludes him and stumbles upon one of the Green Goblin’s secret headquarters. He shares the info with somebody (shrouded in shadow). That person makes some slight alterations to the suit and declares himself the Hobgoblin.
