Peter and MJ go to Cleveland for a book signing. The Black Cat comes back into town to try to rekindle her relationship with Peter. After visiting his old apartment, she finds out that he moved, but doesn’t know where to. Humbug is released from jail and tries to rob Empire State University, but Spider-Man defeats him. The owner of the building where Peter and MJ now live apparently has a thing for MJ. The Chameleon kills a CEO in Chicago and steals his identity. Peter’s next stop on the book signing tour is Chicago.

A strange man with an obsession with insects creates a suit that amplifies the sounds that different insects make. He shoots the sounds from his fingertips and different ones have different effects. He tries to rob a bank. Spider-Man stops him. Jameson sends Peter and Joy to Europe to cover the hot topic of terrorism happening there for his Now magazine. Some terrorists plan to blow up the flight that Peter and Joy are supposed to get on in the morning.
