Spider-Man subdues Vermin and they take him away in an ambulance back to the hospital. Then there’s an epic showdown between Spidey and the Green Goblin. Eventually, Spider-Man stands there and just tells Harry to kill him. Harry can’t do it. He still hates Spider-Man and blames him for the deaths of Gwen and his father. He vows to go far away and flies off.

Spider-Man, Vermin, and Harry all have to deal with their childhood traumas. Vermin was molested by his father. Peter’s parents died and he took the guilt on himself. Harry’s father didn’t love him and was a murderer. Vermin takes his mom and dad hostage, wanting to kill his dad, but he can’t pull the trigger. Spider-Man gets help from Dr. Kafka (now with mask on) and frees himself from the burden of guilt he’s put upon himself. In her office, they find out where Vermin is and Spider-Man swings off to him. They fight and eventually get onto the roof. Green Goblin shows up and knocks Vermin out, telling him Spider-Man is his.

Green Goblin hits Peter with hallucinogenic gas which causes him to think about all the guilt he has over everybody that has died because of Spider-Man. It leads him to realize that the root of it all is about the death of his parents and he goes crazy and tears up the place and swings out (without his mask on) and crashes into Dr. Kafka’s office. Vermin shows up back at his old home and tells his dad he’s going to kill him.

Vermin recalls painful memories of some kind of abuse he endured as a child. It’s the source of all his pain. Harry falls off the deep end and gives into his visions of his father. He puts on the Green Goblin suit and fights Spider-Man. He hits Spidey with some gas that knocks him out and says he wants to suffer in his mind and takes off both their masks.

Ultron-13 steals a box of the synthetic vibranium. Iron Man and Sunturion follow him into the sewer, defeat him, and get the vibranium back. The synthetic vibranium in its raw form turns into antarctic vibranium and melts metal. Iron Man figures out a way to get it all safely away before it melts all of New York.

Silver Sable, Rocket Racer, The Prowler, and Will-o-the-Wisp fight Sandman. Sable slips inside and finds the kidnapper and the girl. The kidnapper nearly gets away with the girl, but Sandman takes him out. Sable offers him a contract to be part of the Outlaws team.
