J. Jonah Jameson tries to escape from the chains Chameleon tied him up with. After all his effort, he gets to the door to find Chameleon, who forgot his briefcase. This story is intercut with one about when Jonah was twenty years old. He was working on a story, trying to expose police corruption. His informant gets shot by the police, Jameson gets beat up, then a kid tagging along accidentally gets killed instead of him. The editor of the Bugle inspires him to keep going. Jameson goes to the police chief’s office and gets on tape his confession of murder. The police chief begs him for mercy. Jameson walks away like a boss.

Peter’s friends take him out dancing and the musician turns out to be a guy who hypnotizes his audience so he can steal their things. Spider-Man makes some ear plugs out of webbing and beats the crap out of the Hypno Hustler and all becomes well again.
