“The Fury of X-Factor!”

Rating: 3/5

Writer: Tom DeFalco
Artist: Rick Leonardi

J. Jonah Jameson hires the group X-Factor to find and capture Spider-Man. X-Factor consists of Cyclops, Beast, Angel, Iceman, and Marvel Girl (aka Jean Grey). X-Factor finds Spider-Man as he’s trying to look for Flash. They fight, but in Spider-Man’s weakened state, he ends up passing out. X-Factor realizes he’s not a menace and for some reason, doesn’t think he’s a mutant, and let’s him go and gives Jameson back his money. Joe Robertson finds some possible evidence in pictures that Flash might not be the Hobgoblin.

Peter Parker, the Spectacular Spider-Man #017 (1978)

“Whatever Happened to the Iceman?”

Rating: 2/5

Writer: Bill Mantlo
Artist: Sal Buscema

Peter gets sent to California to take photos for the news story about a super team called The Champions splitting up.

Angel is the only Champion left. Spider-Man fights some bandaged guy in a wheelchair (called Rampage) who’s blackmailing Angel (in a sense). Well, the guy in the wheelchair has a proxy in a Iron Man-like suit who fights for him at the push of a button. Angel blows up the guy in the wheelchair. The proxy turns out to be Iceman and shreds his armor, but still is under previous orders of the wheelchair man to kill Spider-Man.
