“Spirits of Venom Part: Storm Shadows”

While carrying Hobgoblin to the police station, Spider-Man runs into Demogoblin and the Doppelganger. After a bit of a fight, Spidey and Hobgoblin land in a church. Johnny Blaze and Ghost Rider are walking sewer tunnels looking for Troll and Hag, so they don’t bring Deathwatch back to life. They run into Venom, who was following them and also wants to kill Troll and Hag. They meet up with said foes and fight a bunch of Deathspawn. Johnny Blaze blasts a hole in the ceiling and they go up to find Spider-Man, Hobgoblin, Demogoblin, and the Doppelganger in the basement of a church. They all fight the Deathspawn for a while and then the fight leads back down into the sewers. Continued in Spirits of Vengeance #5.

“Carnage, The Conclusion: Savage Grace!”

Carnage throws Jameson around the office then decides he wants a larger audience to send his message of anarchy. Spider-Man and Venom show up at the office and then head off on Carnage’s trail. They figure out he’s going to a heavy metal concert. Carnage kills a few people along the way. Spidey and Venom get to the concert and fight Carnage. The fight leads to the subway and Carnage kills a few more innocent civilians. The fight leads back to the stadium above and Spidey blasts a frequency through the P.A. system that causes the Carnage symbiote to leave Kasady’s body and die. Mister Fantastic and Human Torch bust in and capture Venom in a mobile restraint chamber to haul him off to jail. Some mysterious couple is about to board a plane to New York and say that their lives and Peter Parker’s will be changed forever when they get there.

“Carnage Part Two: Savage Alliance!”

Spider-Man goes to the island that Venom’s on with the Human Torch. They convince Venom to help find Carnage. Venom wants to protect innocent people. Eddie says that the symbiote that made Carnage is the offspring of the Venom symbiote, created when he left the jail cell. Venom can sense Carnage and they find and fight him. Carnage is stronger than Venom and Spider-Man combined. Carnage throws a baby out a window and Venom and Spider-Man go save it. Carnage leaves. Venom can no longer sense Carnage, because he’s figured out how to block him. Carnage’s next target is J. Jonah Jameson. He breaks into his office at the Daily Bugle.

Carnage has been going around town committing brutal murders and leaving his name written in blood. From early reports, Peter thinks it’s Venom, but after research, discovers that it is probably Eddie’s serial killer cell mate Cletus Kasady. Spider-Man goes to the ruins of the orphanage where Cletus grew up and finds him there. They fight, and Carnage has some new tricks that Venom never had. He can throw pieces of himself in the form of solid objects. After some cops show up, Spider-Man protects them and Carnage manages to escape. Peter decides the only way to stop Carnage is to get the help of Venom.

“Funeral Arrangements Part One: Settling Scores”

Vulture is going around settling scores because he has rapidly spreading cancer and wants to settle old debts before he dies. So he’s killing people who wronged him. He has some kind of score to settle with Aunt May, and shows up at her house.
