The Amazing Spider-Man #348 (1991)

“Righteous Sand!”

Rating: 5/5

Writer: David Michelinie
Artist: Erik Larsen

Peter is feeling lonely and gets a tip from Ben Urich that something might be going down at the trainyard and he should take some pictures. Peter changes into Spider-Man and heads over there. Sandman is now a reserve member of the Avengers and everybody knows who he is. Somebody tells him he saw some people in camouflage loading guns into a truck. Sandman goes to check it out, finds out it’s a plan to steal nuclear waste at the trainyard, and calls the Avengers to help take them down. Spider-Man and Sandman take out a lot of the guys before Thor, Captain America, Sersi, Quasar, She-Hulk, and Black Widow show up to finish the job. Captain America lightly reprimands Sandman because it’s not a global incident and that’s what the Avengers take care of now. Sandman thinks he’s being fired and storms off. Peter returns home and rediscovers that he’s not lonely as long as he’s got MJ. The Black Fox comes back to town for one last big score.
