Spider-Man and his team wait at the Avengers building. Spidey attacks Captain America and instructs the rest to do likewise. Eventually, Spider-Man turns into The Space Phantom and when the real Spider-Man returns from Limbo, he tries to call a truce. Puma finds the Space Phantom and the fighting stops. Space Phantom tells them what happened. Quasar locks him in an energy prison cell and they all go review the files on the building that the cloud came out of. Space Phantom’s master comes and sends him back to Limbo. Spidey and the Avengers find out that the building was once owned by a mystic who brought a locked chest back from the Amazon. And mysterious murders began popping up shortly after. Spidey and the Avengers fight the black cloud. Spider-Man says it might not be a single being and they come up with a plan to lock it back in the chest and throw it into space. Turns out it was a swarm of microscopic cannibal insects and the young god Calculus organized this whole thing to make sure the swarm didn’t fall into the hands of Kingpin.
