Spider-Man doesn’t die. Doc Ock reveals that it wasn’t actually poison, but something that causes a convulsive reaction when using cocaine and he intends to sell the antidote to rich and powerful addicts. The rest of the Sinister Six leave, angry at his betrayal. Ock leaves and Spider-Man de-glasses Sandman. MJ finds the note from her director and leaves for the studio only to find Jonathan Caesar there. Another man shows up and shoots Caesar and claims to be MJ’s biggest fan. She sprays hairspray in his eyes and knocks him out. Peter’s professor tells him Ock’s “poison” is rapidly damaging the ozone layer as an unintended side effect. Spidey finds Ock’s hideout and after a quick battle grabs the antidote and Thor disperses it in the upper atmosphere, nullifying the poison.
