The Spectacular Spider-Man #149 (1989)

“What About Carrion?!”

Rating: 5/5

Writer: Gerry Conway
Artist: Sal Buscema

Last year, we found out that the Gwen Stacy clone created by Miles Warren wasn’t actually a clone, but was just some girl infected with a genetic virus that changed her DNA. This leads Peter to wonder about Carrion. He finds Warren’s journal in his old lab and finds out that everything Warren told him was a lie. The Peter clone was actually Warren’s lab assistant infected with the Peter version of the genetic virus. A new classmate of Peter’s followed him and found one of the viruses. It turns out to be Carrion’s. Spider-Man then accidentally finds him and they fight. The Carrion virus was Miles Warren’s DNA with special powers added. Also, a wolf attacks some of Kingpin’s men and leaves another message. And the man Gloria Grant is dating is actually Eduardo Lobos, thought to have been killed by Punisher. And Joe Robertson’s trial isn’t going well for him.
