The Spectacular Spider-Man #144 (1988)

“An Ill Wind”

Rating: 3/5

Writer: Gerry Conway
Artist: Sal Buscema

Peter’s in San Diego promoting his book. There’s a sailboat race in a few days, and Boomerang attacks the boat of Louis Baxter (one of the competitors in the race). Spider-Man has to investigate. Boomerang kills Louis’s opponent (seemingly accidentally) but it turns out that Louis is the one who hired Boomerang. Joe Robertson is back at the Bugle. He gave his sworn testimony against Tombstone’s murder 20 years ago to the police, but they arrest him for obstruction of justice and being an accessory to murder after the fact.
