Rating: 5/5

Writer: Peter David
Artist: Sal Buscema

As a crowd begins to close in on Spidey as he lays helpless on the ground, Stan Carter saves him and sends the crowd away. Unable to get a job, Stan allows an unrelenting talent manager book a talk show for him. MJ is also at the talk show for a modeling gig, and Peter’s there to watch. When Stan comes out, it’s a surprise, and Peter rages. He changes to Spider-Man and comes back and yells at Stan for trying to make money off of his crimes. Stan gets angry and reveals that he and Jean DeWolff (his first victim) were lovers. Electro sees Spidey on TV and decides to go goad him into fighting, knowing he won’t, just to humiliate him. His predictions are correct and he leaves a dejected Spidey in front of the cameras as he laughs his way out of the studio.
