The Amazing Spider-Man #295 (1987)

“Mad Dog Ward, Part 2: Mad Dogs”

Rating: 4/5

Writer: Ann Nocenti
Artist: Cyndy Martin

Spider-Man is taken into the mental hospital as a patient. He wakes up to find that he’s heavily drugged. None of the caretakers think he’s really Spider-Man, because of all the other insane people who think they’re superheroes. Peter struggles to overcome the drugs and leads a revolt against some new straight jackets that just leads to everybody getting a double dose of the drugs. Everything’s real shady at the Mad Dog ward. They’re trying to turn people into assassins by convincing them they’re dreaming then telling them to release their anger in their dreams. One test subject is called Brainstorm.
