“The Wages of Sin”

Rating: 4/5

Writer: Jim Owsley
Artist: Steve Geiger

Richard Fisk (aka The Rose, and Kingpin’s son) confesses the origins of the Hobgoblin and The Rose to a priest. Ned started out wanting to write a story about Kingpin’s criminal affairs. He tried to get the help of Richard (who hated his father), who refused at first. Ned found The Green Goblin’s old equipment and Richard agreed to work with him to bring down Kingpin’s empire. Ned went more and more off the rails and he gained an obsession with Spider-Man. After confessing that he killed the rookie cop, he says he feels just as low as the crooks that he hated. Richard flees the confessional and goes to Kingpin and tells him he’ll work for him.
