Peter Parker, the Spectacular Spider-Man #117 (1986)

“Dinner Hour”

Rating: 4/5

Writer: Peter David
Artist: Dwayne Turner

In this issue, neither Spider-Man nor Peter Parker make an appearance. The Black Cat goes to fight Dr. Strange for taking away her powers. He says they weren’t taken away, just changed. She returns home to find Foreigner and during their fight, she notices she can now see in the dark like a cat. They then stop their fight and Foreigner proposes the idea of killing Spider-Man, to which she agrees. Joe Robertson struggles with accepting that his son got married to a white girl without telling him. The kid with newfound powers who killed his dad last issue ran away and with those same powers kills some perverts who try to get him into their car then he accidentally blows up the power station. All this happens like an episode of 24 in the span of an hour, with the clock showing up in various frames.
