The Amazing Spider-Man #266 (1985)

“Jump For My Love or Spring is in the Air”

Rating: 3/5

Writer: Peter David
Artist: Sal Buscema

Spider-Man saves a man from jumping off a building (committing suicide). The guy turns out to be The Toad and thinks they’re best friends now. Spider-Man brushes him off and Toad gets angry and sets a trap to show how much Spidey needs him. The Frog-Man hears about The Toad and thinks he’s a rip off. The Spider-Kid from a few issues back hears about this plot as well. When they all meet up, it’s chaos. Frog-Man and Toad fight each other. Then Spider-Kid comes and fights them as well. They all make up, though, and form a super team called the Misfits. Spider-Man is baffled by their bumbling stupidity.
