Peter Parker, the Spectacular Spider-Man #100 (1985)

“Breakin!”

Rating: 4/5

Writers: Al Milgrom
Artist: Al Milgrom

Spider-Man and Black Cat both visit Kingpin independently. Spidey gets stopped on the roof by The Spot, but figures out a way to beat him. He then fights Kingpin and Kingpin agrees to leave Black Cat alone forever. Black Cat learns that her bad luck powers will make Spidey have worse and worse luck until he dies, the longer they hang around each other. Before she can break up with him, he breaks up with her because he feels they are too different. She’s too amoral and is only interested in the costumed, super powered identity. They go their separate ways. The symbiote crawls into Peter’s closet just before he goes to grab his suit to go out again.
