The first appearance of Madame Web. The new sleaze, Rupert Dockery, working at the Daily Globe where Peter works is hatching a plan to take over the Daily Globe. The plan involves murder. Murder most foul. Murder of the woman running the paper, named K.J. Clayton. Spider-Man saves Clayton and puts Dockery behind bars with the help of a psychic vision by Madame Web. Madame Web, being the psychic she is, also figures out that Spider-Man and Peter Parker are one and the same. Also, after all the debacle, K.J. resigns from the Globe and the paper suspends publication. Leaving Parker out of a job. But he’ll get hired by Jameson at the Bugle for sure.
