1st appearance of The Prowler. Hobie Brown, a young inventor, gets dumped by his girlfriend Mindy because he’s a nobody. To prove her wrong he first presents his boss, a window washer, with several new inventions to improve worker productivity. He is turned down and decides to use these inventions to become a costumed character that people will notice. He attempts to rob the Daily Bugle offices of J. Jonah Jameson and Peter Parker walks in on him. Peter, knowing that he cannot betray his identity as Spider-Man pretends to fall out of the window. A side story has Peter dealing with relationship problems with Gwen. He wants to spend more time with Gwen, but is often too busy being Spider-Man. He later sees her in a coffee shop talking to Flash and misinterprets the situation as her cheating on him. She was actually speaking to Flash to discover why Peter seems so distant. Flash has known him the longest out of the current compatriot group.
